mDOC G4
High performance and density in a tiny footprint
mDOC G4 (formerly DiskOnChip G4) delivers high performance and density in a tiny footprint, such as IP Set-Top Box (STBs), digital TVs (DTVs), rugged handheld terminals, digital cameras, mobile handsets, printers, and more. Using innovative technologies such as msystems" TrueFFS flash management and x2 technology, mDOC G4 optimizes Multi-Level Cell (MLC) NAND technology for reliable code and data storage and super-fast execution. The cost-effective architecture, based on a 90nm NAND flash process, incorporates both the flash memory and an embedded controller in a single die.
mDOC G4 stores both data and code, securing proprietary code in a hardware-partitioned boot block. Unique eXecute In Place (XIP) functionality eliminates the need for a separate boot device and lets product manufacturers benefit from reduced overall costs. A standard NOR-like interface means mDOC G4 integration is smooth and easy - no matter which operating system is in place.
Outstanding Performance
msystems" performance-boosting x2 technology includes multi-plane access, on-the-fly error detection, and burst support. mDOC G4 is also enhanced with DMA support for high-speed data transfer.
Low Power Consumption
A low power 1.8V core, together with smart Deep Power-Down mode, reduce power consumption to extend battery life.
Unmatched Reliability and Guaranteed Data Integrity
msystems" industry-standard TrueFFS and x2 technology represent a proven combination of patented, flash management algorithms and robust on-the-fly error detection, especially tailored for NAND flash. These technologies guarantee data integrity-even after power failure-and provide dynamic and static wear-leveling to extend the lifespan of the flash.
eXecute In Place (XIP) Functionality for Easy Boot
Unique eXecute In Place (XIP) functionality goes to work during system initialization, enabling the flash to boot from NAND without the need for a separate boot device.
SureFS for Power Failure Immunity
mDOC G4 can optionally include SureFS, a unique file system immune to power failure. This feature is tailored for portable devices and especially suited for today"s mobile multimedia requirements.
Support for Embedded Operating Systems
mDOC G4 supports Windows CE, Linux, VxWorks, Integrity, QNX, Palm, Nucleus, and other leading operating systems.
