Overview

2.5Gmobile communication technology (GPRS/CDMA 1x) has become widelyused of industrials and utilities in recent years and manycustomers are seeking reliable, flexible and cost-effective datachannel to build their information system. Many applications suchas ATM, POS, SCADA and surveillance system will require datachannels covered all country; this brings a bright future for GPRSand CDMA 1x data networks applications.

Requirements towards information system are variedbecause of different features of numerous industrial applications.Mobile telecom service providers are required to provide industrialapplication solutions not only meeting common specifications andalso individual special ones. Hence, garefowl co-operates withmobile service providers to design products and networkconfigurations suitable to industrial end users'individualizedapplications. Garefowl has developed embedded, advanced andreliable GF Series (GPRS/CDMA 1x) router for the applications.

GPRS networktheoretically can provide a maximum bandwidth 171.2Kbps, actually;it works at 40~100Kbps bandwidth (it depends on service provider'soperation policy). As we know, GPRS is packet based network whichprovides TCP/IP communication channel.

Same as GPRSnetwork, CDMA 1x network can provide a maximum bandwidth up to300Kb/s and actual transmitting and receiving bandwidth reaches100Kb/s.

Since Garefowl has many years experience of mobile data communication, it proves that Garefowl products are widely applied and work stably.

GF Series router is a dedicated ideal data transmission channel for industrial applications. It can be operated at GPRS or CDMA 1x network by selecting a different radio module.

FeaturesFunctions

1)Non host support	Normally, GPRS or CDMA 1x Modem can be connected to a PC, and then dial an access number manually; it utilizes the PC resources to process the data transmission and protocol conversion. GF Series router is an embedded platform built-in with a processor, RTOS, protocol stack and application software. It works automatically without host PC.
2)Always online	GF Series Router will automatically attach to GPRS or CDMA 1x network when it is powered on, and then setup a transmission channel.
3) Toll on traffic	GF Series Router can be configured to work always online; it is charged according to traffic.
4)High speed	Maximum GPRS bandwidth can be171.2kb/s,only 40~100kb/s can be reached at actual application. Maximum CDMA 1x network bandwidth can be 300kbps.However, the bandwidth will depends the operator's policy. For example, it is only 80~100kbps bandwidth at China Unicom CDMA 1x network..
5)Routing and NATfunctions	GF Series router provides routing table and NAT function; it is an ideal solution for branch office connection or SOHO application.
