   2.75G mobile communication technology (EDGE/CDMA 1x) has become widelyused of industrials and utilities in recent years and manycustomers are seeking reliable, flexible and cost-effective datachannel to build their information system. Many applications suchas ATM, POS, SCADA and surveillance system will require datachannels covered all country; this brings a bright future for EDGEand CDMA 1x data networks applications.

  Requirements towards information system are varied because ofdifferent features of numerous industrial applications. Mobiletelecom service providers are required to provide industrialapplication solutions not only meeting common specifications andalso individual special ones. Garefowl has developed embedded, advanced andreliable GF Series (EDGE/CDMA 1x) router for theapplications.

  EDGE network theoretically can provide a maximum bandwidth 384Kbps,actually; it works at 200~250Kbps bandwidth (it depends on serviceprovider’s operation policy). As we know, EDGE is packet basednetwork which provides TCP/IP communication channel.

  Same as GPRS network, EDGE network can provide a maximum bandwidthup to 384Kb/s and actual transmitting and receiving bandwidthreaches 200Kb/s.

  Since Garefowl has many years experience of mobile datacommunication, it proves that Garefowl products are widely appliedand work stably.

  GF Series router is a dedicated ideal data transmission channel forindustrial applications. It can be operated at EDGE or CDMA 1xnetwork by selecting a different radio module.

Features Functions

  Non host support: Normally, EDGE Modem can be connected to a PC,and then dial an access number manually; it utilizes the PCresources to process the data transmission and protocol conversion.GF Series router is an embedded platform built-in with a processor,RTOS, protocol stack and application software. It worksautomatically without host PC.

Always online: GF Series Router will automatically attach to EDGEnetwork When it is powered on, and then setup a transmissionchannel.

Toll on traffic: GF Series Router can be configured to work alwaysonline; it is charged according to traffic.

High speed: Maximum EDGE bandwidth can be 384kb/s,only200～250kb/s can be reached at actual application.
